Designed to fit the KURA bed from IKEA of Sweden. If you do NOT have the KURA bed, and you are the handy/creative type, you can likely fit it easily to other beds and/or create a freestanding play or shade area with it (I always thought that it would be perfect over a sandbox). If you DO have the KURA bed, it just clamps to the bed rail.
